PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk (MDKA) ternyata tengah mengembangkan beberapa proyek mereka di Sulawesi Tenggara, melalui skema mengakusisi proyek kelas dunia dan dua pabrik peleburan nikel yang telah beroperasi. Dimana kedepannya proyek-proyek ini akan terhubung didalam pengembangan kawasan industri nikel.
Pada tahun 2022, anak usaha Saratoga Investama (SRTG) dan Provident Capital, melakukan akusisi melalui anak perusahaannya PT Batutua Tembaga Abadi, dimana MDKA mengakusisi 55,3% kepemilikan PT Hamparan Logistik Nusantara dengan nilai total Rp5,4 triliun.
Nah, dari proses pengakusisian itu MDKA kemudian merubah nama PT Hamparan Logistik Nusantara menjadi PT Merdeka Battery Materials.
