PT Perusahaan Listrik dan PT CNGR Hongkong Material Science & Technology Co Ltd menandatangani nota kesepahaman untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan listrik. Nantinya, PLN bakal memasok listrik sebesar 80 megavolt ampere (MVA) ke pabrik pengolahan dan pemurnian mineral (smelter) nikel di Batu Ampar, Kalimantan Selatan. 

Executive Vice President Retail Regional Sumatera dan Kalimantan PLN Sigit Wicaksono menjelaskan, saat ini kondisi sistem kelistrikan di Kalimantan sangat prima dan bahkan surplus hingga 475 megawatt (MW). Melalui kondisi ini, PLN memastikan pasokan listrik yang andal dan berkualitas untuk mendukung hilirisasi mineral di Indonesia.
