Indonesia menyetop ekspor minyak goreng dan minyak sawit mentah (CPO) untuk menstabilkan kebutuhan bahan baku minyak goreng di dalam negeri. Akibatnya, harga CPO makin tinggi karena Indonesia merupakan salah satu produsen CPO terbesar di dunia. Dikutip dari Financial Ekspress, salah satu perusahaan sawit asal India Adani Wilmar melalui Chief Executive Officer dan Managing Director Angshu Mallick mengatakan, harga minyak sawit telah mencapai puncaknya dan akan mulai turun mulai bulan depan dan seterusnya.

Malick pun meminta Indonesia segera mencabut larangan ekspor CPO dan bahan baku minyak nabati agar harga CPO turun. Menurut Mallick, Indonesia merupakan negara surplus minyak sawit terbesar dan saat ini kapasitas produksi sawit Indonesia sedang melimpah. Namun, Indonesia tidak memiliki ruang penyimpanan yang cukup baik sehingga tidak mampu menahan stok terlalu lama.
